Over the summer months we are teaming up with Holly Bailey to offer you the opportunity to take part in our mountain yoga experiences! The practice of yoga helps to build strength and flexibility whilst also having many mental health benefits, and what better place to practice this than in our wonderful outdoor spaces!
Holly is our very own Ashtanga Vinyasa certified yoga instructor! She graduated in March 2019 at Sampoorna Yoga in Goa, India, and she has been running her yoga classes in Lancashire and Cheshire for the past two years.
The mountain yoga event will start and finish with a guided hike, led by a qualified mountain leader. The hike will be at a gentle pace but will require moderate fitness as it will include uphill walking. We will hike to a chosen location where Holly will lead her Vinyasa flow yoga class before we return back to our starting point.
Vinyasa is a fluid style of yoga, synchronising movement with the breath to flow from one asana (pose) to the next. We will begin with a short meditation and pranayama (breathing technique) and then start to move and flow. The yoga session will be suitable for all levels of experience, from complete beginner to regular yoga practitioner.
We currently have two sessions available for booking, however more dates will soon be confirmed so please do keep checking back here!
Monday 2nd August - 09.00-13.00 - Starting from Grasmere village the route will take us to the summit of Silver How for our yoga class with Holly, submerged in panoramic views of the mountains above and the lakes below.
Tuesday 3rd August - 09.00-13.00 - Starting from Honister pass we will hike up past the quarry workings of the famous slate mines before summiting Fleetwith pike for our yoga class with Holly; once again surrounded by the beautiful panoramic views of the Lakeland fells and looking down over Buttermere and Crummock water.
Although we always request clear skies and sunshine for our events we don’t always get them! The mountain yoga event will take place rain or shine so please ensure you are appropriate dressed for the event with all the correct kit including waterproofs (full kit list will be sent on booking). In the event of adverse weather conditions (heavy rain/strong gales) the event will be cancelled and full refunds or alternate dates will be offered.
